February Portland SharePoint User Group Meeting

The February Portland SharePoint User Group meeting will be held on Wednesday February 15th, 2012. This month Marquam Group will present on Document Management and Taxonomy.

Please note the parking location and remote attendee option at the end of this announcement!

Lunch will be provided by AvePoint and as in previous months we need to get a headcount of how many folks will attend and want lunches. We’ve set up a survey that allows you to change your response so if you initially plan on attending but something comes up you can re-open the survey and let us know. If you plan to attend please be sure to complete the survey by Monday, February 13th at noon since we have to place the lunch order that afternoon. You can find the survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/THCL3JS. Please be sure to take a minute to fill out the survey so we can have an accurate lunch count.

What: February Portland SPUG Meeting When: Wednesday February 15th, 2012 11:30am – 1:00pm Where: Microsoft Portland Office 1414 NW Northrup St. Suite 900 Portland, OR 97209

Topic: Document Management & Taxonomy How should I organize and categorize information in SharePoint to prevent it from becoming just another file share? If you find yourself asking this question, you won’t want to miss this presentation. Marquam Group will help you make sense of SharePoint features that facilitate content management like: managed metadata, the term store, document sets, content types and site columns. Through discussion and demonstration, we will explain in simple terms how you should use these features to organize your content, maximize the collaboration capabilities of SharePoint and facilitate efficient, meaningful search.

Check out the Portland SharePoint User Group for information.
