FirstTalk Speaker: Andy Hopkins (Chrysalis | BTS)

Title:  Got Big Data? Building A Custom Big Data Management Application with SharePoint Search     Topic:  Big Data Management, and SharePoint Search     Description:  Big Data presents a number of information challenges to the business including discovery, sharing, and correlation. Today, Enterprise Search is used to drive navigation, presentation, aggregation, and to present a vision of information access. How does one utilize the full potential of search to address the issues presented by Big Data? In this session, we will examine a real world bioinformatics case study from a developer’s point of view. We will use this case study to explore how one business used SharePoint Search to overcome the Big Data challenges and allowed users to discover and analyze large genomic data repositories. We will review the business problem behind the scenario and study the architectural approach and the decision points along the way. We will look at code samples to better understand how the solution was developed, discuss the integration challenges that were faced, and explore demos to see how the solution components actually perform.

Second Talk Speaker: Tim Runcie (Advisicon)
